Internet Safety Night

Please join us at our next PTA/Accountability Meeting
Tuesday January 21st, at 6:00 p.m.

On this evening, we will be hosting guest speaker Officer George Mumma for a Parent Information Night on Internet Safety. Officer Mumma is the Senior Criminal Investigator for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about going online. This isn’t an easy task—our kids have never known life without the Internet and in many cases, they know more about it than we do.
We will discuss what our children are doing online and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. This is link to PTOToday’s Internet Safety
You’ll learn about:
• The importance of learning about the sites and applications your child uses
• How kids are using mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, and e-readers
• Social networking sites and how to help your child use them wisely
• What to do if your child is the victim of online bullying
• Objectionable content, how to block it, and what to do if your child views it
• Online gaming

We hope you will come and learn about this important topic. On this evening, we will also be discussing other PTA business as well as our School Improvement Plan Goals.

Free Childcare is provided and pizza will be available for $1.00/slice.

We hope to see you there!
