Books on Wheels Coordinator Needed

Books on Wheels is a take home book program for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students.The programs offers Fremont students the opportunity to take home a book at their DRA reading level each day. At the beginning of the school year, each child is given a book bag and a reading log. Each school day, a volunteer checks the book bags to see if the child has read his or her book, if they have, the volunteer gives the child a new book. The Books on Wheels program is in need of a new coordinator.This is a year-long position. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining the condition of the books and all materials pertaining to the program. They will also be in charge of recruiting, training and maintaining a volunteer base. This position is labor/time intensive at the beginning of the school year, but requires only and hour or so a week after that. You will not have to do it alone, there are 3 coordinators who are still very active volunteers at the school and can assist you when needed.
